Since 2019, Newton International Academy Barwa City has proudly offered students the opportunity to participate in the prestigious Duke of Edinburgh International Award. This globally recognized youth development program encourages personal growth, leadership, and community engagement.
Students between the ages of 14 to 24 can take part in this challenging, self-development program. The award consists of three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold, each requiring participants to undertake activities in four key areas:
Volunteering: Engaging in service to their community.
Physical: Improving physical fitness through sport and exercise.
Skills: Developing new talents or enhancing existing skills.
Adventurous Journey: Planning and undertaking a team expedition in a challenging environment.
At Newton International Academy, we have completed several successful adventurous journeys in the stunning landscapes of Zekreet. These journeys challenge students to demonstrate teamwork, resilience, and survival skills while exploring the beautiful natural environment of Qatar.
Our students benefit greatly from the holistic development the award offers. By taking part, they not only contribute positively to their school and local communities but also build essential life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience. We celebrate every participant’s dedication and effort in completing the award, which is a testament to their character and determination.
